Internal Revenue Service Taxpayer Assistance Centers across the country will offer free tax preparation and e-file assistance on two consecutive Saturdays to those who made less than $49,000 in 2010.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Internal Revenue Service Taxpayer Assistance Centers across the country will offer free tax preparation and e-file assistance on two consecutive Saturdays to those who made less than $49,000 in 2010.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, taxpayers eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit can get their taxes done for free.

The expanded hours are designed to accommodate taxpayers who may not be able to seek assistance during the work week.

There are six locations in North Carolina.
