Literary Council of Wake County celebrates 40 years of service

The group held its 6th annual Black, White and Read All Over at the Cardinal Club in downtown Raleigh on Thursday. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to programs, including the Juvenile Literacy Center in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Literacy Council of Wake County celebrated 40 years of service on Thursday.

The group held its 6th annual Black, White and Read All Over at the Cardinal Club in downtown Raleigh on Thursday. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to programs, including the Juvenile Literacy Center in Raleigh.

The center helps children in trouble with the law learn basic skills to succeed in school and life.
