The State of North Carolina got more than $8 million to help residents replace inefficient appliances with ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances.
The first phase of the program offers instant rebates of 15 percent on the purchase of eligible products that replace an older model.
Consumers can earn the rebate on the purchase of:
- Clothes washers
A second phase of the program, for water heaters, as well as gas furnaces and central air conditioners is tentatively scheduled to begin in June 2010 and will continue until remaining funds are depleted.
