— The 2009 edition of the Wake County Public Libraries' Annual Book Sale is in the books.

Almost 17,000 shoppers purchased more than $190,000 worth of books at prices ranging from $1 to $4. The take was a $11,000 increase over last year, the county said.

The money raised goes to the Wake County General Fund and helps to set the library system's budget for the next year.
