Governor Bev Perdue planted collard greens and cabbage outside the Executive Mansion Friday. She plans to donate the harvest of her fall garden to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

Governor Bev Perdue planted collard greens and cabbage outside the Executive Mansion Friday.

The fruits of her labor will be donated to the "Plant a Row for the Hungry" campaign, a national organization that encourages gardeners to grow a little extra produce to the less-fortunate.

The governor plans to donate the harvest of her fall garden to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
