Kites took flight in Cary for the 14th annual Kite Festival at the Bond Park Community Center.

CARY, N.C. — Kites took flight in Cary for the 14th annual Kite Festival at the Bond Park Community Center.

Kite making classes were held in the morning, followed by kite flying at Fred G. Bond Park, 801 High House Road.

The annual Kite Festival marked the opening of the 2009 Boathouse season. The boathouse offers pedal boat, canoe, kayak, Sunfish Sailboat, row boat and trolling motor rentals.

The Boathouse will be open on weekends: Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Starting in June the Boathouse will open seven days a week.
