Retailers association donates food, funds to hunger relief program

The North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) presented money and merchandise worth more than $130,000 to Feeding America, formerly America’s Second Harvest on Wednesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) presented money and merchandise worth more than $130,000 to Feeding America, formerly America’s Second Harvest on Wednesday.

The retailers timed their gift to the opening of the 2009 Session of the North Carolina General Assembly.

Participating merchants included CVS Caremark, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Lowe’s Foods/Merchant Distributors Incorporated (MDI)/Institution Food House, Inc. (IFH), Mt. Olive, Rite Aid, Sheetz, Walgreens and Wal-Mart.
