UNC run honors Carson, benefits education

Runners will hit the pavement Saturday in Chapel Hill for the first Eve Carson Memorial 5K for Education.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Runners will hit the pavement Saturday in Chapel Hill for the first Eve Carson Memorial 5K for Education.

The money raised will be split between a scholarship in memory of the slain UNC student body president and two programs that benefit early education. The event is sponsored by Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

The run begins at 10 a.m. from UNC's Polk Place, South Building.
