Students selected for state internships

One hundred North Carolina college, graduate and law students have been selected for 10-week summer internships with state agencies, Gov. Mike Easley said Tuesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One hundred North Carolina college, graduate and law students have been selected for 10-week summer internships with state agencies, Gov. Mike Easley said Tuesday.

“This outstanding group of students will gain hands-on experience in dozens of diverse jobs across state government this summer,” Easley said in a statement. “These opportunities help to prepare our students for the challenges of the global marketplace and encourage public service.”

The N.C. State Government Internship Program, in its 38th year, is coordinated by the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office in the Department of Administration. This year, 586 students from 70 counties and 109 post-secondary institutions applied for internships.
