City inspections director Frank Simpson plans to retire at the end of May, ending 41 years of work for the city.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — City inspections director Frank Simpson plans to retire at the end of May, ending 41 years of work for the city.
Simpson joined the Fayetteville Fire Department in 1967 and transferred to the inspections department six years later. He was named inspections director in 1986, and the department has grown from 16 to 40 people under his leadership to meet the needs of a growing city.
“I thoroughly enjoy working with the employees,” he said in a statement. “I am going to miss them the most.”
