A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning on Interstate 440 in Raleigh near Wake Forest Road. The driver faces charges.
The crash was reported around 3:30 a.m.

Raleigh police confirmed a man was hit by a vehicle between Wake Forest Road and Capital Boulevard.
The man, identified as Courtney Mathis, 26, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
The driver, Tia Evans, 29, was arrested and charged with DWI and felony death by motor vehicle, according to police. The crash remains under investigation.
WRAL News arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Yellow crime scene tape was stretched across the eastbound lane for hours, blocking part of the roadway until 7:40 a.m.
Multiple Raleigh police officers were at the scene investigating.
