Man who kicked out police car window to escape back in custody, Fayetteville officers say

A man is in custody after he escaped from the back of a police car Tuesday in Fayetteville..

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the man, 43-year-old Randy Lane Locklear, kicked out the window of a marked police car around 5:47 p.m. and escaped on Arsenal Avenue.

Police said Locklear was in custody in connection to a recent robbery investigation, adding that he had the vehicle linked to the robbery and had a probation violation out of Harnett County.

Police said they later found Locklear after a search of the area and took him back into custody. He is facing additional charges tied to his escape.
