Authorities charged Fields with felony sex offense with a child under the age of 15.
Fields was arrested by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 16. He was found in a car with a 14-year-old girl. After deputies talked to Fields, the girl and the girl's father, they charged him with three counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The arrest warrant alleges that Fields had a video on his phone of a 14-year-old girl that was dated Nov. 13. Two of the videos were taken at 12:50 a.m. and a third video was taken at 8:23 p.m. the same day, according to the warrant.
Rolesville Charter Academy tells WRAL that Fields was fired as of Nov. 18, but did not disclose what his position was with the school.
These disturbing allegations have left our entire school community in shock. School leaders immediately contacted law enforcement after learning about these allegations against a staff member and continue to work closely with authorities. While the ongoing police investigation limits the details I can share, what I can say is that families have been notified and this person is no longer employed at our school. Our priority remains providing a safe learning environment for our students. Rolesville Charter Academy statement
Some parents say this response isn't good enough.
“I am trusting a stranger with two of the four most precious people in my life, and then I find out that something like this happens,” said Patrick Mulqueeny, a parent of two first grade students at the school.
WRAL News is still working to learn how long Fields was employed at Rolesville Charter Academy and in what capacity and if he worked at any other schools.
