Knightdale police investigate after teen shot in the foot

Knightdale police were investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot in the foot early Friday. 

Police told WRAL that they responded to the shooting call just after 1 a.m. near Park Place Apartments off Electric Avenue. 

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video of Knightdale police officers searching through a patch of woods with flashlights nearby around 2:30 a.m. Friday. Detectives and a K9 officer were there.  

Police said there is no suspect information to provide and no known threat to the community. It is unclear who fired the gun.
