A Johnston County man is facing multiple drug charges after investigators say they discovered a clandestine drug lab at a home near Benson.
Jason Gray Peltier, 43, has been charged with manufacturing a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, agents assisted the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit on Wednesday while executing a search warrant at a home in the 6100 block of Benson Hardee Road.
During the search, investigators said they found evidence that DMT, or dimethyltryptamine, a Schedule I controlled substance, was being manufactured at the home. SBI agents helped document and process the clandestine lab.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. Officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
