The mother of a 17-year-old boy said her son faces an uphill battle in his recovery after a deadly shooting last week in Granville County.
Leah Anne Worsfold is the mother of Julian "JuJu" Stovall. She said her son is in critical condition.

"He's on a ventilator," Worsfold said of her son. "He's got his left lung collapsed. He now has fluid in his right lung, and his vital signs are stable, but he's in very, very critical condition."
On Friday night, authorities airlifted Stovall to the hospital after a shooting. Ryan Ellington died at the scene of the shooting, according to authorities.
According to the Granville County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. Friday at a Family Dollar in Stovall on North Carolina Highway 15.
Worsfold said Stovall can't feel anything from the chest down. She's spending her time at the hospital and didn't want to talk about what may have led up to the shooting since it's still under investigation.
Worsfold said Stovall graduated from high school the day before the shooting.
Aiden Moss, 19, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Authorities are holding Moss at the Granville County Detention Facility without bond.
It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
There is a GoFundMe page to help raise money for Stovall's recovery.
"Words can't even say how thankful I am," Worsfold said of the donations. "Julian is a wonderful kid and very loved. He's got a lot of support behind him and a lot of people praying."
