Fayetteville police said reports of a suspicious person along Ruby Road led to the discovery of a woman stabbed to death about a mile away. 

Police said they responded to reports of a suspicious man along the 4500 block of Ruby Road just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. After talking with Orlando Montague Pone, Pone was taken into custody, and the investigation led police to a home in the 1000 block of Abrams Street.

Inside the home, officers found Nadine Dove dead with multiple stab wounds. Dove was 63.

Pone, 53, was charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.
