A man was killed in a shooting at McDougald Terrace in Durham Wednesday night – the second shooting to happen at these apartments in less than five hours.

At 10:43 p.m., Durham police responded to the 1200 block of E. Lawson Street (McDougald Terrace), where a man had been shot and killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are on scene determining the circumstances around this shooting.

Hours earlier, another man was shot at the McDougald Terrace apartments.

The shooting happened around 6:20 p.m. in the 1200 block of Ridgeway Avenue, where police found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

WRAL News is working to learn whether these two shootings are connected. 

This year alone, WRAL News has reported that six people, including a 14-year-old, have been shot in Durham's McDougald Terrace neighborhood. That number climbs to eight after Wednesday's shootings.
