A Durham woman is facing charges after her 4-year-old son accidentally shot himself in June.
On Tuesday, 26-year-old Tiera McArthur told WRAL she turned herself in to Durham Police. She is charged with involuntary manslaughter.

As of Tuesday evening, she was out on a $5,000 bond.
WRAL News previously reported that her 4-year-old son, Kamarii, died after he accidentally shot himself with an unsecured gun.
McArthur tells WRAL she owned the firearm for protection and placed it in a drawer where Kimarii found it.
“I never would’ve thought my child would have went into the drawer and gotten the gun and shot himself," said McArthur. "I will never be OK. I will never get to see my son again. I will never get to hear my son tell me he loves me. I will never get to kiss him."
McArthur told WRAL News that she's" going to take accountability for everything," adding that she will never own a firearm again and encourages other parents to get rid of their weapons.
Durham police said another jurisdiction also served a warrant for McArthur for her failure to appear in court.
