A man was hospitalized in a shooting early Sunday mornig in Durham.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired around 12:59 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Eastwood Drive. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a local hospitali with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
Sunday's shooting marked one of several in the past few weeks in the Bull City. In 2026, 22 people have been shot in the city, with several of them under 18. Residents gathered for vigil for the victims on Saturday.
On Friday, Mayor Leo Williams announced a partnership between the city and the Violence Reduction Center at the University of Maryland. Williams said the center works with cities across the country that deal with similar violence issues.
