Cary man arrested, charged with murder of girlfriend who managed storage facility

Cary police arrested a 40-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend.

Travis Huff, 40, of Cary, is charged with murder in connection to the death of Rebecca Carter. She was 41 years old, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, Cary police responded to a call at CubeSmart Storage located at 950 Trinity Road. Officers found Carter dead inside an apartment connected to the leasing office.

Police said she was the manager of the storage facility and lived on the premises.

Cary police said Huff made incriminating statements to the responding officers, who took him to the police department for questioning.

Police said the investigation is a domestic violence-related homicide and that it is ongoing.
