Getaway car from deadly armed robbery on Veterans Day in Asheboro found in Durham, police say

Authorities on Saturday said the car used to help two men wanted in a deadly armed robbery in Asheboro escape was found the night before in Durham.

According to the Asheboro Police Department, Durham police officers found the car while on a service call.

The car was used in an armed robbery around 7:34 a.m. on Veterans Day in Asheboro. Police said two men robbed the "64 Skills" on East Dixie Drive in Asheboro.

During the robbery, police say the two men shot and killed David Matthew Davis and then drove away in a gray 2013 Toyota Avalon. Authorities believed the car was stolen.
