Tuesday is opening day for Caesars Virginia in Danville.

There are festivities planned for the opening with a parade on Tuesday morning. Doors open at 12 p.m. and a fireworks and drone show are planned for 8 p.m.
If you feel like taking a road trip, Caesars Virginia is just an hour-and-a-half away from Raleigh.
A look inside the casino contains nearly 1,500 slot machines, 79 live dealer table games, a sportsbook and a World Series of a Poker room. The $750 million resort is full of amenities - including a pool, spa and restaurant.
"We typically don't build casinos of this size and scale with these amenities outside of our larger destination markets like a Las Vegas or Atlantic City," said Caesars General Manager Chris Albrecht.
Virginia’s success with casinos comes after failed efforts to open more in North Carolina.
A study from last year shows our state is missing out on $259 million in gaming revenue to Virginia each year.
For an idea of a weekend rate at the hotel, the price for a luxury room with two queen beds on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 17-18) is listed at $729 a night (excluding fees and taxes) on the Caesars website.
