A student was found with a loaded gun Wednesday at Bunn High School.

According to a letter from Bunn High School Principal Tyler Morris sent to families, law enforcement searched the student and found the gun in the student’s possession during an unrelated meeting with school administration.

The district said the student will be disciplined according to the student code of conduct, and will face appropriate legal consequences and charges from law enforcement.

 There is no evidence of a threat or intent to harm anyone, according to Morris.

 “We understand that this incident is deeply concerning. Please know that the safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority,” Morris wrote in the letter. “At this time, there is no evidence suggesting a threat or intent to harm our school community. However, we take this matter very seriously and will continue working closely with law enforcement to ensure a safe and secure learning environment. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we navigate this situation.”
