WRAL News is learning more about the death of a Fayetteville woman allegedly killed by her son months earlier.
According to an autopsy from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, 49-year-old Katharine Svaldi was assaulted with a frying pan and dragged through her home before she was stabbed multiple times.

Svaldi was a mother of three. Her son, 17-year-old Isaac Tracy, was charged with first-degree murder in her death.
An affidavit in February stated that police officers found Svaldi in her garage, and it appeared that her body was partially put into a recycling bin in the garage. Authorities also found a note from Tracy on his kitchen table detailing why he killed Svaldi.
The autopsy also said no domestic calls had been made to Svaldi's home before the stabbing and she and Tracy were the only ones living at the home of the time of the stabbing.
Tracy was arrested at his grandparents’ house, and authorities noted that he had self-inflicted injuries. According to the affidavit, Tracy confessed to his grandparents that he killed Svaldi.
Fayetteville police said that in accordance with North Carolina law, Tracy was charged as an adult due to his age and the nature of the offense. Therefore, his name is a matter of public record.
According to court records, Tracy's next court appearance is scheduled for July 28.
