Eve Carson murder case


Eve Marie Carson, the student body president at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was kidnapped from her home, robbed and fatally shot in a neighborhood near the UNC campus in the early morning hours of March 5, 2008.

Demario James Atwater pleaded guilty in her death on May 24, 2010. His co-defendant, Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr., was convicted Dec. 20, 2011. Both men are serving life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole.
