RALEIGH, N.C. —

Wake County school superintendent Tony Tata says he will answer questions from parents and the community in a virtual town hall meeting Friday morning.

The 10 a.m. event is the third online chat that Tata has had since becoming head of the Wake County Public School System in January. It's one of several ways he has been trying to reach out to the public about issues affecting the district.

Participants can submit questions on the school system's website beginning at 9:45 a.m. Friday morning. A moderator will select representative questions for Tata to answer.

About 325 people participated in Tata's first hour-long chat on April 1, when he answered about 20 questions. Tata has said he plans to hold the online meetings on a monthly basis, although there is no schedule yet.
