According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert shortly after 6 a.m. on the 600 block of Troy Street. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived. The man later died at a local hospital.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A Marine Corps general will speak at St. Augustine’s College's commencement on Sunday.

Maj. Gen. Ronald L. Bailey is commanding general of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region.

St. Augustine's will award bachelor’s degrees to more than 200 students during the school's 144th commencement, set for 9 a.m. on campus. The front entrance to campus will be closed for the event.
