David Crabtree on Assignment

All of the talk, chatter, furor over the proposed business transaction allowing a Saudi Arabian company to manage six American ports sounds like one thing. Continued misunderstanding of the Middle East. Maybe it's because I lived in Israel and have studied world religions...but it is perplexing to hear the great outcry regarding security...all because of the heritage of the comapny that wants to manage those six ports.
All of the airlines whose planes were hijacked on 9/11 were American companies...managed by Americans. The landscape of the world has changed...the diabolical minds of those who wish to cause others harm has not.
Why, are we, as Americans, against the sale of the management company...a British company? Does it truly have to do with security? Or could it be our own insecurities because we haven't taken the time to study and learn cultural differences?
Just a thought...
