Hanaa Alexander has been working with kids for 15 years, running an in-home daycare and caring for her two boys. Now the mom of two, who lives in north Raleigh with her husband and family, is launching a new business - Romp n' Roll, an indoor play space that also offers classes for young children and has locations around the country. Another location is in Charlotte.

Romp n' Roll North Raleigh's grand opening week starts Monday, Feb. 26, and has some special deals for founding members. It will officially open on March 5. I checked in with Alexander to learn more about the space.

"Working with children, making a difference in their lives and watching them grow and develop in all aspects has always been a rewarding experience," she tells me. "I also enjoy working with parents toward one goal, which is guiding the children to be the best version of themselves."

Go Ask Mom: Why did you decide to open up a Romp-n-Roll?
Hanaa Alexander: While doing my in-home daycare was an immensely rewarding experience, it was limited by its size and capacity. I felt the need to grow my business and serve more children and families in the community, so I started searching and, at some point, I learned about this awesome program called Romp n’ Roll. I loved the idea immediately!
GAM: How is it different from other options for kids in the area?
HA: Romp n’ Roll North Raleigh differentiates itself from other option in the Triangle in many ways. It is specifically designed for children three months through five years of age. It's one facility that combines a wide variety of activities - gym, art and music classes - with flexible schedules designed with busy families in mind. Being a working mother myself, I really appreciate that convenient setup. We also offer super fun birthday parties, summer camps, kids nights out and other types of events. It is an enrichment facility that offers unlimited classes and unlimited open gym.  Members can attend every day and enjoy great learning, socializing and fun experiences.
GAM: What's a surprise or challenge you've faced along the way?
HA: The venture has been full of fun and challenges. Raleigh is such a dynamic and fast growing area, and it was challenging to find the location that fits our needs in terms of accessibility and size. We are also reaching out to different communities to build awareness of the program because it is the first Romp n’ Roll in the Triangle area. The results have been encouraging. We have been receiving great feedback and support from friends and the community, in person and also on social media channels.

I am very excited to open Romp n’ Roll North Raleigh, and I feel so privileged to be able to serve the children and their families in this community and pass on the fun learning experience that Romp n’ Roll offers.

Find Romp n' Roll North Raleigh at 6210 Plantation Center Dr., Raleigh.
