Wake Forest has a new playground for kids with disabilities.
The new equipment at Kiwanis Park, 400 E. Holding Ave., was recently unveiled. You'll find therapeutic swings and sand box; a "sight and sound" play panel; a fire truck panel; and a power pedaler.

"It's fantastic for children in our area to have such an accessible and safe place to play, especially now that we have the variety of special needs playground equipment available," Wake Forest parks and recreation director Susan Simpson says. "The park is a place where we believe families will be able to enjoy and spend many hours together."
