RALEIGH, N.C. — Stir's flagship location might be in Chattanooga, but its upcoming Raleigh location is all local.
Allen Corey, the founder and president of Stir's parent company SquareOne Holding Company, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also has family in Greenville.

"We are small and we view this (restaurant) as local," Corey said in a phone interview on Tuesday.

That local focus will drive the menu. The restaurant, which will be located next to The Capital Grille in North Hills, will feature premium oysters along with made-from-scratch entrees and cocktails made with artisanal ice.

The house oyster will be a local North Carolina selection and the restaurant is working with purveyors including Sweet Pea Urban Gardener for microgreens and Raleigh City Farm.

"We source a lot of food and food products that we think elevates the concept and a gives good experience for the folks in Raleigh," Corey said.

Corey said Stir's second location was a natural fit in North Hills, specifically citing developer John Kane, CEO of Kane Realty.

"We've been working with them for over 10 years watching North Hills and watching development and growth," Corey said. "We love the demographics and growth of Raleigh."

The bar menu will also include a local focus with North Carolina craft beers on tap and local whiskey. The handcrafted cocktails will be served with house-made artisanal ice that is hand-cut into shapes to complement different kinds of cocktails.

Stir will serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, offering crab and shrimp benedicts, waffle crusted chicken and $1 mimosas.

Stir plans to open on June 17.
