RALEIGH, N.C. — At the box office this weekend, check out a hypothetical story about Elvis Presley and the IMAX re-release of Forrest Gump for its 20th anniversary.
The Identical (Drama/Family, PG, Starring Ashley Judd, Angela Kerecz, Ray Liotta, Seth Green, Amanda Crew)

Identical twin brothers are separated at birth during the Great Depression. Their parents cannot afford to give them both a life beyond poverty, so one is adopted by loving family. Despite their very different upbringings, the boys' shared passion for music causes their lives to unknowingly intersect as they experience a powerful and mysterious connection often felt by twins. One of the boys becomes the most famous rock 'n' roll legend in the world, Drexel Hemsley, while the other, Ryan Wade, struggles to find balance between his love for music and trying to please his evangelist father and his devoted mother who have very different plans for his life in the ministry.

Forrest Gump: The IMAX Experience (Drama/Romance, PG-13, Starring Tom Hanks, Rebecca Williams, Sally Field, Michael Conner Humphreys, Harold G. Herthum)

This Academy Award winner for Best Picture stars Tom Hanks as the good hearted, but painfully slow Forrest Gump, a man who manages to somehow be involved with almost every major event in history during the last half of the 20th Century. Spanning the course of his life, the story follows him as he grows from a weak child to a war hero to a shrimp boat captain, all the while pining for the love of his childhood friend Jenny, played by Robin Wright. The 2-disc "Forrest Gump: Special Collector's Edition" features audio commentaries, documentaries, featurettes, screen test and theatrical trailers.

The Remaining (Suspense/Thriller, PG-13, Starring Christopher McConnell, Johnny Pacar, Shaun Sipos) – Limited release

Friends gather at a wedding, but the celebration is shattered by terrifying apocalyptic events forcing them to examine life, love and faith as they must choose between redemption and survival.

Some more movies playing now:

Land Ho! (Comedy/Action/Adventure, R, Starring Paul Eenhoorn, Earl Lynn Nelson, Alice Olivia Clarke, Karrie Crouse, Elizabeth McKee)

A pair of ex-brothers-in-law set off to Iceland in an attempt to reclaim their youth through Reykjavik nightclubs, trendy spas, and rugged campsites.

Scarface (Drama/Action, R, Starring Al Pacino, Steven Bauer, Michelle Pfeiffer, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Robert Loggia)

After years of diplomatic silence between the United States and Cuba, Castro opens the port of Mariel Harbor, Cuba, to thousands emmigrating to the United States in search of the American dream. Shrewdly, Castro also unlocks the overpacked prisons, allowing hordes of criminals to join the refugees. Tony Montana, a small time hood, is one of them. In Florida, Montana connects with gangster Frank Lopez, and guns his way through the sun washed streets of Miami where he finds power, wealth and passion. He kills Lopez and marries his mistress, Elvira. Montana, better known as "Scarface," soon becomes the leader of a bloody cocaine-smuggling empire but at a terrible cost to his sister, Gina and his loyal friend, Manny. However, like that of others before him, Montana's reign is brief and a violent end is guaranteed as rival gangster compete to become the next drug lord.
