New fun park coming to Fayetteville shopping center

The 41,000-square foot space will be occupied by Epic Fun Park, an indoor trampoline park and entertainment facility. Shelley Bhatia, vice president of Trademark Properties, the company that was hired to lease the space, told WRAL News that the fun park will also have an amusement center and arcade.

"Anything and everything you can imagine, taken under one roof, to really get the ultimate experience to the Fayetteville area," said Shelley Bhatia.

The development of the fun park is expected to bring 50 to 60 jobs to the area, Bhatia said.

The space, which used to be home to Omni Health & Fitness, is just a couple of blocks away from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The new owners of the property are purposely being extremely tight-lipped about what's actually going to be in the building as part of their marketing strategy, Bhatia said.

Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin said that the city lost a similar entertainment venue, Dave and Busters, during the height of the pandemic last year.

"There was a lot of disappointment in the community," he said, "so, I'm glad to see that these folks decided Fayetteville was a great place to invest."

Since vaccines have become available, companies have been investing in indoor commercial properties that were left abandoned during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We're just happy to welcome another family entertainment venue to the city. It brings jobs, it brings economic development investment and we're happy to see it," Bhatia said.

The fun park is expected to open in June.
