Heights House Hotel in Raleigh’s Boylan Heights neighborhood has joined the creative cocktail scene. An intimate bar, The Parlor at Heights House, opens June 1 to give visitors a chance to sip and sample the landmark residence recently named a “Best New Hotel of the World” by Travel + Leisure.

The Parlor serves up a curated selection of Italian inspired cocktails, an all-Italian wine list and local craft beer alongside cheese and charcuterie boards.

The Parlor will be open by reservation only on Sundays from 2 to 7 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 9 p.m. seating is limited, and available for groups up to six only.

“With the opening of The Parlor at Heights House Hotel, we’re thrilled to now offer non-hotel guests – and especially our neighbors and Raleigh residents – an opportunity to enjoy this historic property in a casual and relaxed way – and maybe even envision how they would return for a staycation or to host a private event,” Heights House co-owner Sarah Shepherd said.

Guests can mingle in the Italianate mansion's four front common rooms – The Parlor, Drawing Room, Library and Dining Room. Each mixes modern and vintage touches, with hand-selected artwork, fixtures, vintage rugs and custom furniture.

Raleigh native Will Bryant, formerly of Charlotte’s Fin & Fino, is the manager and mixologist responsible for the Parlor’s cocktail program. He'll open with five custom cocktails:

The Villa features Empress Gin, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, house-made sage vermouth and citrus in a purple-hued cocktail.
Macaluso is fondly named for manager Bryant’s great grandmother, who was Sicilian. Old granddad Bourbon is combined with orange-infused Aperol and Cardamaro for a riff on the classic Paper Plane cocktail.
1858 honors the year the historic home was built with a Paloma-meets-Lemoncello style cocktail.
Philosophy of Romanticism pays homage to the home with an elegant sparkler of hibiscus-infused vodka, housemade Limecello and bubbles.
Pesca Spritz, the house Spirtz, features Tanquray Sevilla Orange with house made peach-infused Lillet, fresh lime and San Pellegrino.
