Neighbors charged in Durham shooting
Durham police have arrested one man and are searching for his neighbor in connection with a November shooting that left a 21-year-old man critically injured.
Posted — UpdatedMarkee Rashad Townes, 18, of 405 E. Pilot St., and Lemuel Ward, 18, of 412 E. Pilot St., were named as suspects this week in the Nov. 30, 2010, shooting. Police said the victim was found lying in the parking lot of an apartment complex at at 412 E. Pilot St. and taken to Duke University Hospital.
Townes and Ward both face charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.
Ward was arrested Thursday and placed in the Durham County jail under a $500,000 bond.
Townes remains at large.

State Department of Correction records show that Townes has a single previous misdemeanor conviction for simple assault.
