Raleigh, N.C. — A neighbor reported hearing a 'loud pop,' then seeing flames by the home next door around 12:30 a.m. overnight in Wake County. They said they helped ensure the family woke up and escaped their home, which stands on Villawood Circle off Lake Wheeler Road.
The source of the fire was a shed on the home's property. The 'pop' sound was possibly the sound of a propane tank exploding.
The Fairview Fire Department knocked the flames down quickly. Luckily, the fire did not spread to the house.
Investigators will return to the home to figure out the exact source of the overnight fire.
No injuries were reported.
