RALEIGH, N.C. — If you're ready to get out of the house, Marbles Kids Museum has your back.

The downtown Raleigh museum will be open regular operating hours - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Sunday. It had closed at noon, Thursday, ahead of the storm and remained closed on Friday and again Saturday, when it experienced a power outage. Admission is $7 per person.

Marbles has opened up a couple of new exhibits in recent months.

Piece Out is an "open source " construction exhibit.
Polar Play and Hit the Trail have outdoorsy themes.
And, if it's not too rainy when you're there, it's worth exploring the new Color Pop Corner at Morgan and Blount streets.
Marbles' IMAX theater also will be open with its usual schedule. On its really big screen, starting at 10 a.m., Sunday, the theater has eight showtimes featuring "America's Musical Journey 3D," along with "Backyard Wilderness 3D" at 11 a.m. and "Pandas 3D" at noon and 2 p.m.

Most other major destinations remained closed today. They include the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill and the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and N.C. Museum of History.

Stay safe!
