NCDOT begins treating roads across the state for third round of winter weather
On Thursday, roads will be treated for what will be our third round of winter weather in just two weeks.

On Thursday, roads will be treated for what will be our third round of winter weather in just two weeks.
Crews and trucks from the state Department of Transportation have already began treating some roads, but the work will pick up Thursday.
The NCDOT will pre-treat roads with brine, working in Franklin and Person counties. Parts of Wake, Vance, Warren and Durham counties were treated Wednesday.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport is also stocking up on winter and de-icing supplies to treat runways after its stockpile nearly ran our during the last two winter storms.
The purchase will cost $241,770, according to a statement from RDU.
