Raleigh, N.C. — The Aviation Parkway exit on Interstate-40 East will be closed for up to 60 days for a road improvement project.
The closure at Exit 285 for Aviation Parkway started Sunday, Feb. 16 and is expected to last through March and April. The closure will allow crews to redesign the interchange.
A signed detour will direct drivers to take Exit 284, turn right onto Airport Boulevard, turn left onto Chapel Hill Road and then left back onto Aviation Parkway.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the loop from southbound Aviation Parkway to I-40 East will also be closed. A sign will prompt drivers to instead turn left onto the ramp used by northbound traffic so they can access I-40 East while the loop is closed.
