ASHEBORO, N.C. — Several changes are coming to the North Carolina Zoo during the first weekend of November as it preps for the winter season.

The zoo will shift to winter hours – from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – on Nov. 2. Those hours will remain in place until spring 2016.

The zoo's Africa entrance and parking lot will close for the season on Monday as well, along with the parking-lot shuttle service and connector trail between the Africa and North America parking lots. Zoo visitors can view all of the Africa and North America exhbitis during the winter by entering through the North America entrance.

In addition to the Nov. 2 changes, the Dino World exhibit, Endangered Species Carousel and the 4D theater will close for the season.

Weather permitting, the North Carolina Zoo is open 364 days a year, closing only on Christmas.
