FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — It was a crime with eyewitnesses, but after eight years there are still no arrests in the murder of Alexander Green.

Green, 22, was majoring in criminal law at Fayetteville State University and, if he had lived, he may have investigated the same type of shooting that took his life.

“He was a great kid. A great, great kid and a wonderful young man,” Green’s mother, Pamela Green, said.

Pamela Green and her family have suffered great pain and a sense of injustice since her son was murdered.

“The only thing I know is that he was shot and killed. No one has any answers,” she said.

Alexander Green was hosting a college party in the Haymont Cottage Apartments on Elvira Street on Nov. 10, 2010 when two men burst into the apartment, wearing bandanas and carrying rifles.

Witnesses said the Fayetteville State University student was trying to protect others when he was shot.

Police went door-to-door, passing out fliers, hoping someone would offer information to help them make an arrest.

“We just want some closure. We want the people who are responsible for it found,” said Alexander Green’s uncle, Anthony Hairston.

Anybody with information is asked to call the N.C. Wanted hotline at 866-439-2683.
