NC soldier killed in Afghanistan

Chadbourn, N.C. — A soldier from Columbus County was killed in combat in Afghanistan Thursday, the military announced.
Pfc. Amy R. Sinkler, 23, of Chadbourn, N.C., was killed in the Baghlan province when insurgents attacked her unit with a rocket-propelled grenade.
Sinkler served with the 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade based at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
