NC recall: Wavy Lays Original Potato Chips for milk allergens

Frito-Lay has issued a voluntary recall involving bags of Wavy Lay's Original Potato Chips, which may contain undeclared milk ingredients.

Frito-Lay has issued a voluntary recall involving bags of Wavy Lay’s Original Potato Chips, which may contain undeclared milk ingredients.

Only 31 bags are affected, according to Frito-Lay. but people with milk allergies or sensitivities could be at risk if they eat the chips.

The recall applies only to 7 3/4 oz. bags of Wavy Lay’s Original Potato Chips with:

  • UPC code: 0 28400 04380 9 and
  • “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 02 Nov 2021 and manufacturing code 1712 17944 85 21:30 or
  • “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 19 Oct 2021 and manufacturing code 1713 20044 18 03:37

The chips were sold at unspecified stores in N. Carolina, S. Carolina and Va. as early as July 23. No other Lay’s products, flavors, sizes or variety packs are recalled.

No allergic reactions have been reported.

Consumers who bought the affected bags can call Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
