NC native makes directorial debut with homegrown film

David Burris grew up in Raleigh and lives in Los Angeles. For years, he served as executive producer of the CBS show "Survivor." Now, he returns to his roots directing his first film, which was shot entirely in western North Carolina and is largely about the region. "The World Made Straight" will have a special screening in Raleigh on Saturday.
