NC native Ariana DeBose named to 'Time 100' influential list
Time magazine unveiled its "Top 100 Most Influential People of 2022" list on Monday.
Posted — UpdatedTime magazine named North Carolina native Ariana DeBose to its annual Top 100 influential people list.
“Ariana DeBose is what I call a quadruple threat: she’s not only a dancer, an actress, and a singer, but also kind,” Chenoweth wrote. “I first became aware of her when I saw her as the Bullet in ‘Hamilton.’
“The role requires her to move in slow motion—and so creative was she! It took such physical strength.”
Both DeBose and Chenoweth were cast in the TV show “Schmigadoon!”
“As the first openly queer woman of color to win an Oscar for acting, for 'West Side Story,' she’s a trailblazer,” Chenoweth wrote. “I think she’ll one day win an EGOT [an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony].”
