A long-time North Carolina physician's post to Facebook on what it will take to beat the novel coronavirus has been shared almost 1,000 times.

Dr. Allen Dobson is the CEO of Community Care of North Carolina, the largest healthcare advocacy group in the state.
He wrote about the seriousness of coronavirus and why a measured approach to easing restrictions is necessary.

"I know there is a push and some states are talking about reopening despite warnings from medical experts or implementing a plan to test and track. I hope those decisions will not cost lives in their states. I guess we will see," he wrote.

Dobson ended with a plea for support for the medical system.

"This crisis has shown us all how dysfunctional and ill prepared our healthcare system is. Now is the time to build a solid primary care and public health system in this country. We deserve better," he wrote.
