WILMINGTON, N.C. — A Coast Guard boat crew pulled six people from a boat that had run aground and was taking on water near the Bonner Bridge Friday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received the distress call and sent boat crews from Station Oregon Inlet as well as issuing an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast to notify other mariners in the area.

Station boat crews launched on a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat and a 24-foot Special Purpose Craft - Shallow Water in the rescue.

The people rescued were taken to Pirate's Cove Marina.

No injuries were reported, and crews are working to recover the boat.
