RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina State Capitol building is standing in for Tennessee this week during a movie shoot in downtown Raleigh.

The film "The Evolution of Nate Gibson" was shooting scenes Tuesday in the downtown area. The plot is described as: "Inspired by a true story, this drama follows a young man with a bright future who suffers a near-fatal accident after an innocent time with friends at the lake. As he grapples with his new normal, he must learn how to overcome adversity with the help of his family and an unlikely friend. The family features Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning actors."

Actress Welker White posted on her official website that she would be working on the film alongside actors Marcia Gay Harden and Diane Ladd and director Nick Hamm.

Last week the film shot scenes in Charlotte.

This is the same movie that was seeking extras in other cities throughout the state. Additional casting needs are being posted on the Tona B. Dahlquist Casting website.
