NC blogger shares secrets to getting that great food photo

RALEIGH, N.C. — For Linda Nguyen, eating out isn't just about the food.

"Every time I walk into a restaurant, I basically location scout," Nguyen said. "I look at windows. I look at tabletops."

Nguyen is a professional blogger and social media influencer. Her Instagram account, LindaEatsWorld, has more than 11,000 followers and won the 2018 WRAL.com Voters' Choice Award for Best Instagram. She is known for her food photography.

Nguyen prefers a light tablecloth and as much light as possible when shooting that perfect Instagram picture.

"Basically I try to plan all my meals to be daytime and if I make reservation, I always have a polite little note requesting a window, and I explain that I'm taking photos, just so that they don't think I'm just being high maintenance," Nguyen said.

Most of her photos are taken via her smartphone, but she edits all the images on her desktop using Adobe Lightroom.

Nguyen, a native of Houston, moved to North Carolina several years ago with her now fiance. The two are planning a fall wedding.
